Hands-On Museum

The Hands-On Children’s Museum is open year-round, and is located just a short drive from Jonesborough in nearby Johnson City. The museum has been developed to create a dynamic educational, fun environment for young people that stimulate discovery, thought and understanding through interactive exhibits, programs and events in the arts, sciences and humanities.

In operation for over twenty years and serving over 1.25 million young visitors, the museum has over 20 permanent interactive exhibits and a series of exciting temporary exhibits as well. It normally takes 1½ to 2 hours to properly experience the Hands-On Museum, which makes it a great package combination with an afternoon at the Wetlands Water Park or Storytelling Center.
