The Jonesborough Repertory Theatre has developed a reputation for being one of the best small theater operations in Northeast Tennessee. Performances are scheduled throughout the year so the theater is always busy. The Theatre is next to the Historic Eureka Inn and is a short walk from the AmericInn and Jonesborough’s award winning bed and breakfasts.
With great lodging, wonderful restaurants, and terrific cultural opportunities in theater, storytelling, dance and music, visitors can have a fantastic weekend experience and never need to use their automobile.
The Jonesborough Repertory Theatre also has a number of youth performances and classes/workshops for young people.
The Jonesborough Repertory Theatre is located at 125½ West Main Street in the historic downtown immediately beside the Historic Eureka Inn. The theater facility is located at the end of an alleyway along the east end of the Eureka Inn, and the entrance is covered with a green awning that has the JRT Sign. The alleyway is immediately across the street from the historic Presbyterian Church.
Parking is on the street and in lots along the creek next to the Courthouse, or in parking areas within Storytelling Community Park across Main Street from the theater.
Show dates and performances times are listed on the JRT website as well as the Calendar section of this website. Show times are usually 8:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evenings and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, however, show times do vary and it is important to check schedules on a show-by-show basis.
Ticket prices will also vary, but typically regular performances are $12 for adults, and $10 for students and seniors. Check individual shows for actual ticket costs.
Tickets to JRT performances can be purchased in advance through the Historic Jonesborough Visitor Center. Tickets can be purchased over the phone by credit card at 423-753-1010. Tickets purchased over the phone can be picked up at the Visitor Center up to the day of the show. If not picked up, tickets purchased are taken to
the JRT and will be available at the performance. Tickets can be purchased in person by cash or credit card by coming to the hostess counter at the Visitor Center on Boone Street.
