Recreation in Historic Jonesborough

Jhikingonesborough and its surrounding areas have all there is to offer in recreation. Nestled in the mountains of Northeast Tennessee along the Appalachian Trial, there is a world of opportunity for outdoor recreation.

Camping, hiking, fishing, white-water rafting and biking are all within reach while visiting Jonesborough. With many public golf courses in the area, this region has been recognized as one of the premier places for hitting the greens by Golf Digest Magazine.

Historic Jonesborough also has several parks, walking trails, and youth sports and recreational opportunities. Stage Road Park is located just a block from downtown and offers walking trails, basketball court, playgrounds and a pavilion. Come have a picnic at Mill Spring Park and relax by the creek. This park is a famous wedding location with its picturesque setting and gazebo.

Depot Street, also near downtown, offers a basketball and volleyball court with a playground and pavilion. And don’t forget, Wetlands Water Park is located just one mile from downtown in Persimmon Ridge Park. With swimming, three water slides and a lazy river, fun for all ages is just around the corner.

Want something a little more thrilling? NASCAR is just minutes away at the Bristol Motor Speedway, which always has events to offer. Johnson City, Kingsport and Bristol are just minutes away from relaxing Historic Jonesborough and offer even more recreational activities.
