Art/Glass in Historic Jonesborough

Art lovers come to see the painted pictures, photos, and beautiful landscapes on canvas or prints by the artists of Historic Jonesborough and surrounding areas — Johnson City, Kingsport, and Bristol, Tennessee.

Historic Jonesborough appreciates art in so many ways, and showing and selling is at the top of the list. The picturesque downtown area with its landscaping and well preserved historic buildings creates a beautiful setting for great pictures, photos, and canvas paintings.

In addition there are several art sale/exhibits that have recently been added to the Jonesborough calendar. Each event is an opportunity for many different kinds of artists to showcase and sell their work. Steve and Tava Cook renovated the Main Street store location, which served as a telephone company, to accommodate more crafts and artwork from over 200 different artists from across the country. All of the artists represented at JAGG are American artists, and the Cooks strongly emphasize the importance of supporting these artists against imports and mass-produced items.

New work is being sought each year to give the art lover a new selection several times yearly, and all artists are welcome to submit their work for consideration.
